Sometimes, some ideas are just so perfect they make the universe a better place. And so it is with the gobsmacking return of James Murphy and his crew of electronica enthused art-rock disciples in LCD Soundsystem. After splitting the band at their peak 7 years ago, Murphy suddenly found himself writing and making music again. Worried that his legions of fans would be slightly narked at the idea of his band splitting up in a hail of glory only to reform again, Murphy was gloriously persuaded by the late and oh so very great David Bowie who told him that if the whole idea made him uncomfortable, then that is how it should be and he should just get on and do it. The utterly magisterial new album 'American Dream' is the result and this track is one of the highlights. Long may they reign.
